On April 15th, the IEEE BRACU Student Branch proudly hosted its very first event of IEEE Week, โ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐: ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก & ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ,โ at the Multipurpose Hall. The event featured two inspiring guest speakers, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ข๐ก๐๐ง ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐, who shared their personal journeys and perspectives on the balance between academic performance and skill development.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from our respected Registrar, Dr. David Dowland Sir, who spoke about IEEEโs global impact and expressed his high hopes for the future of our student branch. A highlight of the event was the official unveiling of our newly designed IEEE merchandise, which created a buzz of excitement among attendees.
Mr. Rashed opened the discussion by stressing the importance of practical, hands-on experience. He emphasized that while CGPA might help secure initial opportunities, long-term success hinges on the development of both hard and soft skills. Mr. Raihan followed with a candid reflection on his own academic journey, sharing how an average CGPA did not hinder his path to success. His story served as a powerful reminder that determination, continuous learning, and adaptability matter just as much, if not more, than grades.
As the hall gradually filled, students listened intently, engaging with the speakersโ messages about self-growth and the importance of learning beyond the classroom.
By noon, the speakers were honored with crests as tokens of appreciation, followed by a photo session with participants and executive body members to commemorate the occasion.
The event concluded with the distribution of refreshments to all attendees. Participants were also invited to mark their attendance to receive an e-certificate recognizing their enthusiasm and engagement. Many students expressed newfound interest in joining IEEE, marking a promising start for the branch.
This successful event is just the beginning. With such positive momentum, we look forward to organizing even more impactful sessions in the days ahead.
