The award certificate reads “For exemplary performance as an active IEEE Student Branch offering technical programs, activities, professional networking opportunities that enable members in building critical skills.”

On November 13, 2020, this award was presented by IEEE to IEEE BRACU SB for its exceptional and extraordinary operations through the 2019-2020 session. The award is presented annually to each qualifying Student Branch in each Region, for having an active program yet being consistent with IEEE goals.

With the slogan “Advancing Technology for Humanity”, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) stands as the largest technical professional organization around the world that fosters high scholarly scientific contribution and technological advancement for social or communal goodwill. It is a global hub and gateway for electrical engineers, professors, undergraduate or graduate students and expert practitioners to share their knowledge through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, seminars and other educational activities.

As of now, IEEE has more than 419,000 members in more than 160 countries, above 50 percent of whom are from outside the United States. IEEE has over 3,422 Student Branches at colleges and universities in over 100 countries.

The IEEE BRACU SB was established in 2008 with a stirring EB panel of undergraduate students and experienced advisers. From the beginning, it has been a tremendous journey for IEEE BRACU SB to stand out as one of the outstanding and portentous branches under Region-10, Bangladesh Section and beyond. It is one of the most active and vibrant student organizations within Brac University. Amidst the never-ending shade, the 2019-2020 session has been truly exhilarating for this branch with so many opportunities and achievements. It could not have been made possible without having all the positive energies from the EB panel and the huge dedication from the members. Under the sublime supervision of the honourable branch counsellor, Prof AKM Abdul Malek Azad, the IEEE BRACU SB is more confident and dedicated to achieving unforeseen outcomes. Throughout the years, the IEEE BRACU SB has been made one of the most inspiring examples among all other student branches inside the Bangladesh section as well as other global student branches.
