The IEEE Brac University Student Branch is pleased to announce the successful completion of Project Sporsho, a fundraising initiative aimed at providing iftar meals to underprivileged children. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed directly or indirectly, thereby ensuring the resounding success of this program.

As part of our ongoing humanitarian efforts, the IEEE Brac University Student Branch conducts this charitable program annually during Ramadan. Our commitment transcends technological advancements; we also strive to alleviate suffering and bring joy to the lives of those facing adversity. This year, we chose to support an orphanage for boys in Shantipur and another for girls in Tejgaon as the beneficiaries of our charity program. Alongside providing iftar meals, we supplied dry food items, kitchen essentials, and materials for their future needs. The program was executed on the 17th of April.

The plight of orphaned and underprivileged children in our country is a stark reality that resonates deeply. Picture waking up to a world devoid of familial care and support for even the most basic needs. It’s within this context that we directed our efforts towards these vulnerable children, aiming to infuse their lives with hope and a touch of happiness. Their circumstances were never of their choosing, yet our presence managed to bring a glimmer of joy into their hearts.

Witnessing the transformation on their faces was truly moving—their radiant smiles filled our hearts with warmth. As they shared their stories, an evening that began with outreach ended up becoming a cherished exchange for everyone involved. It’s incredible how a simple act of kindness can spark such widespread happiness. Imagine the collective impact we could have on many more lives if we unite and extend ourselves towards such benevolent deeds.

Saint Basil once said, “A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.” This sentiment is a guiding principle for us, reminding us of our responsibility as members of a privileged society to care for those less fortunate. IEEE, an international organization, stands as a beacon for positive change, advocating both technically and non-technically while strongly endorsing humanitarian efforts. Active or passive participation welcomes anyone to be part of these noble endeavors.

Our gratitude extends to everyone who contributed to Project Sporsho—donors who generously gave and individuals who selflessly shared their time during Ramadan to extend blessings to those in need. None of our achievements would have been possible without the dedication of our generous donors and the tireless efforts of our committed members who meticulously executed this project.

Looking ahead, we aspire to organize more events of this nature and to achieve this, we rely on the continued support of everyone within this organization. Our mission remains steadfast—to bring joy and happiness into the lives of these young souls. Remember, true happiness blossoms from giving, not receiving.
