power systems are undergoing a significant transformation. The integration of smart grid
technologies, digital monitoring systems, and renewable energy sources is becoming essential
for ensuring efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. This seminar highlighted how Bangladesh is
progressing toward a smarter and more resilient energy infrastructure, aligning with global
trends in energy transition.
The seminar was held at the Theater Room of BRAC University from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM
and witnessed active participation from approximately 40 attendees, including students and
aspiring engineers interested in power systems and energy innovation. The session began with
an introduction to the importance of smart grid development, followed by an in-depth technical
discussion led by the speaker.

During the session, Engr. MD Masud Reza shared insights into key areas such as modern grid
planning methodologies, integration of smart technologies into existing power networks, and the
practical challenges faced in implementing large-scale energy solutions. He also discussed the
opportunities emerging from digitalization and automation in the power sector, emphasizing the
importance of adaptive and forward-thinking engineering practices.
A number of respected faculty members joined the session from the EEE Conference Room at
BRAC University, contributing to a collaborative and academically enriching environment.
Among the faculty members were:
- Amirul Islam, PhD
The seminar also included an interactive segment where participants actively engaged with the
speaker through thoughtful questions and discussions. This exchange allowed attendees to gain
deeper clarity on real-world applications and industry expectations, making the session highly
engaging and impactful.
The event concluded with closing remarks from a respected faculty member and a token of
appreciation was presented by him, who highlighted the significance of bridging academic
learning with industry practices and encouraged students to actively engage in shaping the
future of the energy sector.
